About Us

We are an ethical publisher designed by writers to serve writers better and to give them a voice. The publishing industry is unfortunately absolutely overrun with predatory business practices, from hidden fees and overwhelming costs to misrepresentation of their capabilities and publishing standards.

Most hybrid and vanity publishers charge between 3000$ and 12,000$ USD to publish, and that will get you a line editor, maybe a copy editor, and a terrible cover designer, and then once your book comes out it is forgotten about by the publisher. Most authors will never recover these costs, which is devastating both financially and emotionally.

We have a thorough process. All books will first go through developmental editing. We will then get audience feedback from our beta reader group. We will do a thorough line-by-line edit and send your book off for copy-editing and proofreading to make sure it is as close to perfect as possible. We work closely with both author and artist to create a cover that is eye-grabbing and thematically appropriate. Then we develop your marketing plan and go to print.

Since we don’t charge upfront fees, our success is your success. We need our authors to do well or we have to close our doors, which means that unlike most of our competition, we will work hard with you to get your name out there. Our marketing plans are co-operative, meaning we do a lot of that work for you. We’ll develop social media campaigns, plan book signings, and work out media appearances.

Creative people look at the world differently. They see something beautiful or tragic or amusing or profound around them, and they share that vision with the rest of us. That is the magic of art. Our first priority here at Lunar Willow Productions is to enable creative people to share.

Your voice is heard here.

Our AI policy

We proudly stand against AI-generated art and writing. Every book we publish, every cover we use, every character drawing, banner, and promotional work we use is made by skilled human hands.

We do not believe that AI-generated images and writing are art. We do not believe people who use AI content generators are artists. The phrase “AI artist” is an oxymoron, an impossibility. The single prerequisite to being an artist or a writer is to create art with their personal skills, which AI creators do not do.

AI should be helping us to keep appointments, fill out emails, correct spelling errors, and perform repetitive maintenance tasks in our daily lives. We should be using AI to do labor so we can focus more on creating art, not using AI to take our livelihoods away.
